Im sure that most of you have come across the free operating system Linux. there are many variants of this UNIX like os. there is ubuntu (which is one i use) mint, debian, and redhat. Unlike Windows and OSX *osx is also based on UNIX. linux is completly free and rather easy to install. Linux has become very popular in the last couple of years becuse of the tragedy of windows vista. of couse you have to pay for windows but if you need a no frills way to get things done then go with any version of linux. You can even install it side by side with your current OS just partition your hard drive, download the iso, burn it to a cd, and restart your computer go to the boot menu, boot of the cd follow the on screen instructions and and install.
